In July 2021, I picked up a new hobby — crocheting. As I go deep into this community, I found out that there are websites, such as Ravelry and Ribblr, to bookmark projects and store yarn stashes, etc. Of course, not forgetting YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok too, there are TONS of tutorial videos and crochet project ideas!

If you read my previous articles, you should know me by now, I was wondering if I could combine both Crochet and ClickUp?

DISCLAIMER: As of 1 November 2022, I am under the ClickUp Affiliate Program. My intention for this article still stays the same, which is to share how I use ClickUp as an individual user. If you want to save a day every week, sign up here. Cheers!☺

Back to the topic; I thought to myself, what if Crochet + ClickUp? So, I made lists — Yarn, Projects, Products in ClickUp.

  1. The “Yarn” list stores all of my current yarn stash. This includes the number of skeins, the amount spent, colour code, amount of yarn that I have, and notes regarding the yarn.
  2. The “Projects” list stores all of the projects that I am interested to work on, or that I am working on, or that I have completed. Take a scrunchie, for example. There are many videos and variations on it. Each video is an item on the list.
  3. The “Products” list stores all products which I have completed. Each product is an item on the list. In this list, I consolidated all the different patterns which I have learned (from the “Projects” list).

Interested to find out how I combine crochet and ClickUp? Behold; these are my current 3 lists — Yarn, Projects, Products in ClickUp. I have not quite settled on the “final” look of these lists but I am still making improvements as I delve deeper into the crochet community.

Yarn list

This Yarn list contains my yarn stash! Each type and colour of the yarn is a row so that I can note down the price. As much as possible, I tried to include the URLs to the stores that I brought from. I also included a manual progress bar to indicate how much yarn I have left so that when I am at the stores, I will be able to gauge how much more I need.

Projects List

This Projects list contains all the interesting projects or projects that I am working on or projects that I have completed. I have added in a “Materials Check” so that I know if I am ready to begin the particular project.

Products List

After I completed the projects in the Projects list, I note down the products which I can now make and this is where the Products list comes into play. In my earlier example of a Scrunchie, I intend to watch all videos that I have found and I will consolidate the variations and store them into “Scrunchie task”. I will then readjust the time estimate if needed. At the end of the day, under the “Related Projects” relationship field, it will contain more than 1 task from the Projects list.

Joining these 2 areas, crochet and ClickUp is a unique combination. You may find my yarn, projects, and products templates here in a crochet folder. Also, if you are interested to follow me on my crochet journey, find me on Instagram, Twitch, and TikTok!

Thank you for making it this far! Does this sound like something that you will use or sound like someone you know will need this? What are you waiting for? Share it with them!
